What You Will Learn

How to design our own livelihoods, congruent with ecological and social regeneration, in ways that are good for the planet, good for society and good for ourselves. This course explores how we can generate our own living through creating and developing regenerative enterprises. It includes stories and case studies from prior explorers in the regenerative enterprise field, models and frameworks that describe attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors typical of people who do well at creating enterprises.Topics include new mutualism, income solidarity and raising capital, extending our concept of investment and generating value beyond cash alone to include eight forms of capital.

This module introduces you to a collection of practical theories and action-oriented strategies to assist in the design of managed, flexible promises – commitments that flow with life’s changes, build trust in relationships, and pave the way for livelihood streams requiring transparent accountability.

Many people are unable to think and act in visionary terms because they are convinced that they neither have the intelligence to do so nor the permission. This module is about turning that view upside down. In this segment, we look at learning abilities through appropriate experiences and projects, tools to help you succeed and the philosophy we employ in our approach to transformational action un/learning.

Learn to analyze your own worldview, ready to spot any dissonance or misalignment, consider the origin of your worldview; determine whether and how you need to shift it. Bring the idea of worldviews and changing worldviews beyond absolute prescriptions and learn how worldview affects design.

We will introduce the leaderful model, a framework for building and maintaining a leaderful culture, and examine the various tools and strategies for fostering inclusive and participatory decision-making processes. We will also examine the importance of intergenerational collaboration and the role of storytelling in building and sustaining resilient communities.

We will explore the context and complexities of modern project design and management, as well as Ecosocial approaches such as Dragon Dreaming. We will examine the importance of agile systems and explore a variety of design methodologies. We will also explore the principles of permaculture design and their application in ecosocial design projects.

Lastly we weave together the threads of this course by exploring our approaches to effectively tracking our work and un/learning. We demonstrate resilient documentation and counter non-documentation syndrome so that the movement may learn together and grow from our collective experience.
